Main Street Living is proud to introduce a children's segment as a part of the Sunday morning program. The idea came from a desire to serve the children of South Dakota and surrounding area that do not attend a church. The program was developed to provide a variety of experiences for the children. Bernice and Simon bring bible stories and life situations into a child friendly world. Bernice is the optimist, Simon the inquisitive, pessimist. They talk to the children with emphasis on peaceful, Christ centered ways to handle problems. They also interact with Bob to work on the Bible memory verse for the day. Bob Portice is the program host. Bob talks with viewers and shares stories from the Bible and the Bible verse for the day. Bob brings a wealth of theater experience. Bob is an active LLL member and can be seen with the Ministry in Action Sausage supper crew. Bob interacts with the other program personalities. Belva Schindler is the story lady. Belva is a Lutheran school teacher. Her quiet voice and reassuring personality draws the listener into her story. Most of the stories are from the Arch Book series. Belva and her husband, Rev. Vernon Schindler served 11 years as missionaries to Ghana, Africa. Tina Lenz, the Letter Lady, is a preschool teacher at Sioux Falls Lutheran School. She reads letters from children and shares advice from a Christian perspective. Tina is a teacher with years of experience answering puzzling questions from children. Rick Keller is a co-producer and writer. Rich is the voice of Simon, an excited, inquisitive boy. Rich is a talented and creative force behind the story line along with his wife, Jana. Rich and Jana keep the show lively. Rich brings television production experience and writing to the program. Jana Keller is the quiet Christ centered voice of Bernice. Jana and Rich were excited to be a part of the Kid's Crossing team. This is an answer to their prayers. They serve as a puppet team at their home church and have been looking for an opportunity to share their ministry with a larger audience.
